MAE launches "Guide of Romanian voter abroad" for 11 December election

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) launched the "Guide of the Romanian voter abroad' informational material addressed to the Romanian citizens from the diaspora to inform them regarding the conditions of exercising their vote in the parliamentary elections of 11 December.

"Guide of the Romanian voter abroad" is part of the information campaign led by MAE with the aim of informing Romanian citizens with the domicile or residence abroad upon the conditions of exercising their vote in the parliamentary elections of this year.

According to MAE, the guide contains information referring to the categories of Romanian citizens who can exercise their voting right abroad, methods of exercising the voting right abroad, the voting program, ID documents needed for voting at the polling stations from abroad, instructions on exerting the voting right by mail.

Romanian citizens from abroad can consult "Guide of the Romanian voter abroad" on MAE webpage, in the section addressed to voting abroad at the parliamentary elections on 11 December 2016, link: http://www.mae.ro/.

In a press release remitted on Friday, MAE reminds that for identifying the closest polling station, Romanian voters from abroad can consult the full list of 417 polling stations from abroad established by Decision no. 43/2016 of the Permanent Electoral Authority, on the webpage of the Ministry, link: http://www.mae.ro/.

For the elections on 11 December, Romanian voters from abroad will have at their disposal 417 polling stations, 111 more when compared to the previous parliamentary elections of 2012 and 123 more compared to the presidential elections of 2014.

MAE reminds that the Romanian citizens with domicile or residence abroad can vote at the elections on 11 December through mail - if they have registered on the Electoral register within the set deadline (in the period between 1 April - 14 September 2016) - and at any polling station from abroad.
